Sailing in the City at Poolbeg Yacht and Boat Club—This weekend The Docklands hosts the Poolbeg Yacht and Boat Club Regatta.

Poolbeg Yacht and Boat Club will host their annual sailing regatta this June Bank Holiday Weekend at their Ringsend marina.

The popular event in recent years has seen 100s of people visit the club to enjoy both the adult and junior sailing racing events that the regatta has to offer - and this year is sure to be more popular than ever. The theme for this year’s event will be "Party in the Park" - a large tent will be erected on the grass, so visitors can enjoy the party atmosphere whatever the weather. There will also be a picnic on the water - with the aim of encouraging as many people as possible to find space in a boat and get out on the water.

This is just one of many events the club holds every year. The club has a very active membership of 240 and is always excited to welcome new members. Both the events and club membership are open to all.

Poolbeg Yacht and Boat Club

The club is situated in Ringsend, an area with a great maritime tradition, and has been there for 47 years. In 2006, the club finished constructing its own 100 berth marina. The club and marina are situated just 3km from the centre for Dublin City, making it the only yacht and boat club in the heart of Dublin.

The club is seeking sponsors for the sailing regatta weekend; There are many opportunities to get your company’s name out there with sponsored flags on the boats or in front of the club, where, due to its excellent location, will be visible to 14,000 to 17,000 cars each day.

If you would like to sponsor this event and support a local club in bringing sailing to 4-17 year-olds then you can contact them by email at info@poolbegmarina.ie or by calling the event manager, Darragh, on 086-3439879.
