TRANS-FUSION Festival: Irish Trans Archive History Talk - 5 June, 2019

In recent years, Transgender people have stepped out of the shadows and are beginning to participate fully in Irish society. But did you know that there have been Transgender individuals in Ireland for over 250 years? In conjunction with EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum, The TRANS-FUSION Festival, the Irish Trans Archive and TENI, Sara R Phillips will provide a fascinating look into the lives of many of these individuals.

Bloomsday @ EPIC: Ulysses in Distant Lands - 12 June, 2019

James Joyce famously said of his home city ‘When I die, Dublin will be written on my heart’. Like the Dublin of Ulysses, contemporary Dublin is a vibrant multicultural cityscape, bursting with stories waiting to be told. For this event, EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum have asked four Irish and Irish-based writers to share their own personal Odysseys.

The RICC Summer Project will run two camps this year, offering all the children’s favourites and some exciting new activities. Camp 1 will take place from July 22 to August 2 and Camp 2 will be held from August 12-22. Both camps will meet on August 2. Registration is on Tuesday, June 4, from 9am-1pm. The deposit is €50.

Storyboarding with Marten Jonmark (Brown Bag Films) – 8 June, 2019

Every animated film starts with a storyboard. It takes a script or a story and turns it into a series of drawings, these drawings show everyone where the camera will be placed, where the characters need to be positioned and what the characters will be doing. The workshop will use examples and exercises to give participants the knowledge they need to visually tell a story, participants will then be able to storyboard stories of their very own. Led by storyboard artist Marten Jonmark (Vampirina; Doc McStuffins; Peter Rabbit).

Docklands 5K Race

Lime street - 20 June, 2019

The 2019 race will take place on Thursday, June 20th, starting at 7:45pm. The distance is 5k, run over a flat, fast loop in Dublin's Docklands area. Organised by the runners from Crusaders Athletic Club, the Docklands 5k race is held with the help of the generous sponsorship, provided by many companies located in the Docklands and surrounding areas. The Docklands 5k is a non-profit event. All proceeds will be used to improve the facilities of Crusaders AC and to promote sport, health and wellbeing in the community.
