Poolbeg Yacht & Boat Club

Children’s Summer Sailing Course 12: 19th – 23th August, 2019

Watching youngsters grow in confidence as they master the art of sailing is one of the great rewards for the staff at the Irish National Sailing and Powerboat School. These summer course will entertain, challenge and stimulate your children as they learn how to master a sailing dinghy afloat - and have fun along the way.
A 5 day course delivered over a week.

Club Racing - Keel Boats Wednesday – 21th August, 2019

A full programme of competitive club racing is available from May to October.
Starting usually from our Committee Boat "Sean Whiston" to either laid or fixed marks in Dublin Bay, there is a very active fleet of privately owned cruiser racers within the club and we provide racing for keelboats and dinghies in ECHO handicap series.

City Kayaking

Intimate Kayaking Concert on the Liffey – 24th August, 2019

A very special Session of Kayaking and Music! Some of the best musicians in town will play for you UNDER the most iconic bridges of Dublin! The acoustics are unbelievable and the atmosphere on the water is magic! We will get onboard our stable "sit on top" kayaks (ideal for beginners) and paddle towards the city centre and back stopping under a few bridges where the musicians will play originals for you, adding a little touch of poetry and history of the city on the way. The all experience will last about 2.5 hours.

Summer Camp Week 12: 19th – 23th August, 2019

Dublin’s most exciting summer camp is a full day camp running from 10am to 4.30pm from Monday to Friday with the exception of the bank holiday weeks in June and August when the camp runs from Tuesday to Friday. To offer the best experience for all participants it is not possible to book a part week or day camp. All children are required to be booked in for the whole week.
A 5 day course delivered over a week.

War, Plague, Occupation & Evangelism – An Irish Missionary in Manchuria: 21th August, 2019

The Boxer Uprising, a pneumonic plague that killed 60,000 people, the Russo-Japanese war and the Japanese occupation of Manchuria, Reverend Fredrick O’Neill lived through it all. For two years, he served Chinese workers sent to France to help the Allied armies in the First World War. The concept of Eight Easy Pieces comes from a famous lecture series given by physicist Richard Feynman at Caltech in the 1960s. These lectures became so popular with his fame that members of the public began trying to sit in on his classes. With this in mind, he eventually published a book in 1994 entitled Six Easy Pieces comprising of his lecture series, with the intention that it could be understood by the layman.
