The Tony Gregory Centre Ballybough officially opened on 18th May 2010 by the Lord Mayor of Dublin Emer Costello. The Centre was officially named after the late TD Tony Gregory in recognition of his valuable community work and contribution to Irish politics.
Dublin City Council commissioned the Resource Centre for the Ballybough area. The principal aim is to provide an open and inviting building which will act as a focus for the local community and a crucial element in the social, educational, cultural and recreational life of the area. The building has an important civic role both in the community and in the wider city context. It is intended to provide a strong, identifiable focal point for the community which is reflected in the Mitchell+ Associate design.
