We cater for boys and girls from the age 4 all the way to senior football.

Sheriff YC ‘Deputy’ Academy is an academy for boys and girls aged 4-7 which takes place every Saturday morning from 10AM at the Sheriff Youth Club Hall in Commons Street IFSC Dublin 1.

Kids learn the basics of football in a safe, fun and friendly environment. The session is split into two groups:

Aged 4-5 10AM-11PM

Aged 6-7 11PM-12PM

We’re always open to new Deputies joining. If you’ve a kid interested in joining or coming along for a session call William on 0851978065.

FAQ’s

Is the academy available for girls & boys?

Yes we welcome both boys and girls to the sessions. We don’t segregate boys or girls all kids play and learn together.

How much does it cost?

Each session costs €5 per child and for a family with siblings then the total cost is €5 per family. If you’ve difficulty in meeting this cost please contact our academy director in confidence and we can work with you.

What happens if it’s raining or cold out?

The academy director will contact all parents during the week to confirm if the session is on or not. We very rarely have to call off the academy due to weather as we’ve the use of an in door 5 a side hall which we use in the event of heavy rainfall and if it’s extremely cold. For all other occasions we use a 5 a side all weather pitch next door to the hall.

What items of clothing should the deputies wear?

We recommend all deputies wear astro boots and shin guards. We also recommend they wear shorts and a shirt. We have a club shop where club uniform can be purchased see here.

As well as the above we suggest all kids bring a bottle of water for breaks during the session.

Do parents need to be present for the duration of the academy?

Yes we request all parents remain present for the full duration of the session. We also ask for huge encouragement from parents and positive reinforcement on the sidelines when the session is on.
